Felipe Drugovich arrives to Silverstone to the 4th round of Formula 2 on one of his favorite tracks

After a brief stop of just over 10 days, Formula 2 is back to track on next weekend at one of the most legendary temples in the history of world motorsport, the Silverstone Circuit. And the Brazilian Felipe Drugovich, highlight in the beginning of the season in the last category before Formula 1, arrives for the fourth double round of the year with renewed optimism.

“These days allowed us to analyze very carefully all the data from the last round”, explains Felipe Drugovich, 20, who surprised Formula 2 by winning in his first weekend in the category in early July, in Austria . “With this, we want to grow with the positive data and avoid the mistakes we had, especially the start of the second race in Hungary”, recalls the Dutch team MP Motorsport driver.

Felipe Drugovich has Silverstone as one of his favorite tracks. With medium and high speed curves, its layout is challenging. “It will be great to have two rounds in a row at Silverstone, I think we can evolve a lot”, says the driver from Maringá (PR), referring to the fact that Formula 2 will run at Silverstone for two consecutive weekends.

On the first weekend, Formula 2 racing drivers will be able to use two tires compounds supplied by Pirelli, the hard and the medium. The following week, the hard and soft compounds will be available. “We won't have to worry about saving tires, as Silverstone has new asphalt. Today it is quite smooth, but it offers a lot of 'grip' without spending so much tire”, says Felipe Drugovich, who in the first race of the 3rd round, played in Hungary, and came to 5th using a dared strategy in the use of tires.

In this period of just over 10 days in which racing drivers and teams had no track activities, MP Motorsport worked hard on the cars of Felipe Drugovich and his teammate, the Japanese Nobuharu Matsushita. “We had changes in the car that can give us great performance at Silverstone this weekend and this whole ´package’ makes me very optimistic”, concludes the racing driver, currently 7th in the classification table of his debut season in Formula 2 between 22 competitors from around the world.
